IN THE DARK is a 2022 Forest of Reading Yellow Cedar Award honour book! Thank you to all of the awesome kids who read the nominated books and voted for their favourites, and to all of the parents, teachers and librarians who encouraged them. Much appreciation to the Ontario Library Asssociation for giving us this fun opportunity to share our book with readers across Canada.

IN THE DARK is a 2022 Forest of Reading Yellow Cedar Award nominee! I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing program that encourages a love of reading in young people and celebrates Canadian books. Canadian kids and teens can participate in the Forest of Reading through their school, their public library or at home, and they choose the winning books by voting for their favourites. IN THE DARK has been shortlisted for the Vancouver Children’s Literature Roundtable’s 2021 Information Book Award! This award recognizes Canadian nonfiction books that “arouse interest, stimulate curiosity, capture the imagination, and foster concern for the world around us”.
